A creamy macaroni and cheese recipe, made with Cheddar cheese sauce, cooked macaroni, and seasonings. Top this with buttered bread crumbs, if you wish.

    INGREDIENTS:

5 cups cooked macaroni (8 ounces raw)

    4 tablespoons butter

    4 tablespoons flour

    1/4 teaspoon salt

    1/8 pepper, or to taste

    2 cups milk

3/4 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese

    paprika, optional

    PREPARATION:

In a saucepan, melt butter over medium-low heat. Stir flour into the butter until smooth and bubbly. Stir in salt. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly. continue to cook, stirring constantly, until thickened. Add cheese and continue to cook and stir until melted. In an 8x10-inch baking dish, alternate layers of macaroni and cheese sauce. Sprinkle with paprika, if desired. Bake in a preheated 350° oven for 20 minutes, or until hot and bubbly.

    Serves 6.

I got this recipe from Food Network (Good Eats)

    Stove Top Mac-n-Cheese

    1/2 pound elbow macaroni

    4 tablespoons butter

    2 eggs

    6 ounces evaporated milk

    1/2 teaspoon hot sauce

    1 teaspoon kosher salt

    Fresh black pepper

    3/4 teaspoon dry mustard

    10 ounces sharp cheddar, shredded

In a large pot of boiling, salted water cook the pasta to al dente and drain. Return to the pot and melt in the butter. Toss to coat.

Whisk together the eggs, milk, hot sauce, salt, pepper, and mustard. Stir into the pasta and add the cheese. Over low heat continue to stir for 3 minutes or until creamy.

Boil pasta, drain. Add chunks of Velveeta, a bit of 1/2 and 1/2, and a cup of shredded cheddar. Simmer, stirring until smooth. Pour into baking dish and bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 20 minutes, top with another cup of shredded cheddar and bake about 10 minutes until cheese is slightly crispy and golden brown.

I don't think it is possible to get any creamier than homemade mac & cheese w/ Velvetta. I was born and raised on my momma's recipe and it was made with butter, milk and Velvetta. The only other recipe that comes close and your going to think I am nuts saying this is Outback Steakhouses Mac and cheese on the kids menu (I htinkits called the queens mac and cheese). Best other than my mom's. I think I'll call my mom right now and thank her for her good food. Maybe I can talk her into making some for me this weekend!!! Good luck in your search.

EDIT: Hey if your going to thumbs down everyone because they don'ty offer you a recipe you can google yourself then I will block your worthless questions you *&*^$%$%#@@!

I make several kinds of Mac & Cheese...one of the recipes I use often is the one on the Velvetta package...however, I DOUBLE the cheese.

Now...if you want something different, try this one:

    RIGATONI WITH FOUR CHEESES

    3 cups milk

    1 tablespoon chopped carrot

    1 tablespoon chopped celery

    1 tablespoon chopped onion

    1 tablespoon parsley sprigs

    ½ bay leaf

    ¼ teaspoon black peppercorns

    ¼ teaspoon hot pepper sauce

    Dash ground nutmeg

    ¼ cup butter

    ¼ cup all-purpose flour

    ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

    ¼ cup grated Romano cheese

12 ounces uncooked rigatoni, cooked & drained

1-1/2 cups (6 ounces) shredded Cheddar cheese

1-1/2 cups (6 ounces) shredded mozzarella cheese

    ¼ teaspoon chili powder

Combine milk, carrot, celery, onion, parsley, bay leaf, peppercorns, hot pepper sauce & nutmeg in large saucepan. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low; simmer 10 minutes. Strain; reserve liquid.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Melt butter in medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir in flour. Gradually stir in reserved liquid. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened. Remove from heat. Add Parmesan & Romano cheeses; stir until blended. Pour into large bowl. Add cooked rigatoni; toss gently to coat. Combine Cheddar and mozzarella cheeses in medium bowl. Place half the rigatoni mixture in a greased 2-quart casserole; sprinkle with cheese mixture. Top with remaining rigatoni mixture. Sprinkle with chili powder. Bake 25 minutes or until bubbly.

    Make 6 large servings

    Cook the macaroni.

In seperate pan, melt 2 tablespoons butter, then stir in 2 tablespoons flour. cook for about 30 seconds. Add 3 cups milk. Cook on medium high heat. Add cheese. I like Velveeta or cheddar. About 2 cups should do. Stir until thick. Add a teaspoon of minced onion, pinch of salt, and tsp black or white pepper.

Add cheddar mixture to noodles. Put in casserole dish and cook at 350 for 30 minutes.

    SERVE and ENJOY!!

    Bake: 25 minutes

2 cups dried elbow macaroni (8 ounces)

1/2 cup chopped onion (1 medium)

    2. Meanwhile, for cheese sauce, in a medium saucepan cook onion in hot butter until tender. Stir in flour and pepper. Add milk all at once. Cook and stir over medium heat until slightly thickened and bubbly. Add cheeses, stirring until melted. Stir in cooked macaroni. Transfer mixture to a 2-quart casserole.

    5. Saucepan Macaroni and Cheese: Prepare as above, except reduce milk to 2 cups. After draining macaroni, immediately return macaroni to the saucepan. Pour cheese sauce over macaroni; stir to coat macaroni with sauce. Cook over low heat for 2 to 3 minutes or until heated through, stirring frequently. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
