The future of the Big Unit?
Randy Johnson allowed 5 runs on eight hits in four innings in a rehab start yesterday.
Obviously Randy is looking to get win #300. He is 16 wins away. So it will most likely take him all of this season and a month or two of next to get 300 (that's if he stays healthy).
But, what do you think about this. Brandon Lyon is a solid relief pitcher and a below average closer. What do you think about RJ pulling a John Smoltz and moving to closer? It could definately extend his career. It could also be a something that would end it faster. I think it would be a positive thing for the D-Backs but that could also change with the Doug Davis situation.
Anyway, tell me what you think. The Big Unit: to close or not to close?

Wow, RJ is definetely outside of Koufax and Gibson the most dominating pure stuff pitcher ever. I doubt there ever will be a pitcher quite like him. I mean he is a 6.10, side arm throwing, 100MPH lightining, and the nastiest slider I've ever seen. I think pulling a Smoltz would be perfect. RJ would be a devastating relief pitcher. The problem is though that the Diamond Backs need more than 70 innings out of him to win the division. However, a hurt RJ is worth nothing so, you might be right.

Randy will pitch until His best friend in schilling retires. SO they can both go in the hall in the same year.
Though Schilling'll go in as a sox.
