Is R&P Saturated w. "Vs" Threads?

I would say it's getting old, but actually it got old six moths ago. Now it just fills me with the urge to vomit uncontrollably. The late vapid inanity of R&P is a good part of the reason I'm considering leaving Y!A.

Well if you want to get technical it is because the origins of the word are andswerien, andswerian, andswarian and andswaru all meaning to answer. So the kept the w in place because it was in the original spelling. I agree with you though it is sort of a silly letter to be there because it serves no purpose, but now that I have grown accustomed to spelling the word that way I couldn't imagine spelling it any other way. Anser =( Ansir =( Answer =) It just doesn't look right misspelled. It will just have to be among the other words with silent letters that really don't need to be there such as.. castle..silent t and handkerchief..silent d Good question though =)

I agree.. However,newbies or not, it's still kind of funny too see a Question like Fall Out Boy vs Led Zeppelin? Who's the better band??

Yeah there are quite a lot of them, and some do get a bit annoying, but I usually don't mind the questions that are comparing two GOOD bands, [not MCR,FOB etc,etc, there are enough bloody questions about them], if they just wanted to know which band was more popular..

I did a few 'Vs.' questions, but they weren't bands, they were just the same song done by different people, so I don't know if that's the same, but whatever!

Edit: I MUST add however, I would rather see 20 'vs.' questions than one, 'MCR FANS!!!!!!!!!!!?'

Lately the ones I'm seeing a ton of are "who would win in a cat-fight between _____ & _____." So effin tired, I can't even begin to describe the agony.

Of course, MCR vs. a clogged toilet are always very intellectually stimulating and deep questions to ponder.

I agree with you on the free country part. The problem is many aren't as stubborn as you and me and simply stop hanging around when the questions get stupid. We've lost a lot of good contributors that way.

I say we all take Darth's lead and vomit uncontrollably in protest of the VS questions. :)

Aah...I tend to just ignore them and take great delight into moving onto the endless 'what are good rock bands' questions

The only ones that do irritate me are the ones that include FOB/MCR/Paramore/Jonas Brother/(insert next crap band here)

Yeah I know what you are talking about. I myself am guilty of comparing bands like Venom and Kreator to the Jonas Brothers.

its the internet. it gives us a chance to say what we truly think without getting in trouble. the mcr vs good music one is really funny. i cracked up on the question for people to think of new song names for mcr (weren't you the one who asked it? or i think you gave the answer saying the black rose bowl parade. i cant find the question to favorite it :(. so when we have a chance to talk trash about a different opinion, it helps us vent a little bit
