I would go with SMB Medicine boots they are around $50.00

they have gel in them and they move around with your horse. or polo wraps because they are for support

but u have to make sure the sand doesnt get up in the wraps because they can cause discomfort and cause proublems for your horse. Also profesionals choice is also a good brand to

dont buy the cheep ones they only support the tendon but not the whole let hoped i helped

Source(s): I looked it up and also lookiong them up

Is your horse tripping because of the sand (I doubt it) or because he isn't balanced and isn't paying attention to where his feet/legs are and isn't ready to be running yet? As far as the splint boots are concerned, padded ones that have the leather patches that ward off direct hits from the off foot are best...I don't put as much stock in brands as I do in design and construction...I'm sure that you aren't running your horse on very hard ground that could cause concussion splints, so the splints are probably caused simply by one foot interfering with the other when running...I wold always wear the splint boots anyway, but maybe your horse should be slowed down a bit and taught how where his feet/legs are at all times and how to use them...interfering is a signal that othr things need attending.

I'm a little confused why you think your horse will get splints from being in very deep soft sand. Splints are usually caused by direct hits to the legs or working on hard ground. They can also be caused by poor confirmation and poor shoeing.

HIYA! I HAVE A COUPLE OF HORSES AND IT'S VERY MUSHY GROUND THEY USED TO TRIP WHEN GALLOPING OR ON A FAST TREK BUT I BOUGHT THESE http://www.hyperdrug.co.uk/prodinfo.asp?number=SPL...

AND NOW THEY DONT TRIP VERY OFTEN UNLESS THEY ARE RACING IN THE MUCK! THE CUSIONED ONES ARE BEST ID SAY!

*OH YEA AND BY THE WAYS DOVER PRO IS PROBABLY BEST FOR SAND!* =]
