Will you stay or go if Microsoft's hostile takeover of Yahoo is successful?
Personally I will set my browser to Google. I did not care for MSN and I am sure Microsoft will taint Yahoo with its greedy corporate fingers. This hostile takeover is just another way for Microsoft to gain more power in the world.

I will drop all of my Yahoo! accounts if a takeover by Microsoft succedes. Everything that Microsoft touches turns out rotten.
MSN portal is crap.
Live.com is crap
Defender is crap and useless application and Consumer Reports agrees.
Vista is slow, non-user friendly. and people are avoiding it. Thanks to Vista, more and more people are switching to alternative systems like MacOSX or Linux.
MSN Messenger is buggy, full of security holes, and people avoid it's use.
The only reason Microsoft wants Yahoo is because it has a large user base and web technology. People on Flickr already plan to leave if the takeover takes place.
In the end, Microsoft will just waste money in it's takeover of Yahoo.

Ok, to answer your questions: 1. A Hostile takeover is one where the management of the target company don't want to sell (i.e. Yahoo!) but are forced to for some reason, eg. the offer is so good that it would be very dificult to achieve that kind of value through normal trading. 2. As before, offer such a good price that can't be refused. 3. Often when a company is taken over, the management of that company is usually fired, unless there is an agreement otherwise, either becuase of efficiency reasons, or in the event of a hostile takeover, the original management may still want sabotage the company, so it's better to get rid of them. Ordinary workers in Yahoo! would be unlikely to get fired since they aren't involved in decision making.

Yes, I will consider dropping Yahoo if this Microsoft grab takes place. I've been with Yahoo for almost 10 years now. I have the plus account and love their service. On the other side I also have MSN and I'm fed up with their one sided view on everything. So go ahead Microsoft...make my day!

i agree with your opinion. i'd be out of here in a flash. i remember watching some documentary about microsoft trying to drown netscape in the 90s, and being so ruthless and cut-throat about their business dealings. i despise the company.

I will be staying, no doubt the service will still be the same. It will be just a new company who takes over.

I probably will stay, but this question is like trying to choose between Clinton or Obama.
