Do you think Kevin Brown wanted to hurt anyone?

He did NOT try to blow up Air Jamaica. You can't play with Jamaicans like that. NO Jamaican would do that, or watch it being done.

Kevin was a sick man, scarred by war, and by seeing his mother murdered. I believe he intended to return to Jamaica and avenge his mother's death.

Did he intend to harm anyone on the plane? No.

Did he intend to harm whoever killed his mom? Yes.

What he was planning to do wasn't right, but when it comes to having to endure certain kinds of personal pain you can relate to that emotion crying out for revenge. Especially from a soldier who has been asked to kill in the name of what is 'right'.

People do not seem to understand that the main reason why the murder rate (jamaican against jamaican) is so high is because of weak policing (poor scientific and investigative skills and tools) and an even weaker court system.

Justice is hard to find, especially when you are dealing with wealthy criminals who know how to abuse the system. If such a skilled criminal killed your family memebr and appeared to get away with with it, how would YOU use your military training?

SPECIAL NOTE:

I get upset when people say "dont go to jamaica because the crime and murder rate is so high". The fact is that this activity is generally is NOT directed at tourists. Even in the few cases within the last few years where 'american citizens' have been injured, some were drug dealers with dual citizenship...not tourists.

A tourist visiting resorts and going on adventure tours is not at any real risk of being hurt by Kevin Brown or anyone else.

I am not here to judge him, but a war can mentally mess someone up. Who Knows what was his intentions. You leave sane and come back totally insane. I know someone would have to take me to Bellvue if I heard someone killed my mother after I am done seeking for those murderers. I'm just glad that a catastrophe was diverted especially on Air Jamaica.

And as Chairman of the board on Air Jamaica stated that the materials that he had would not be able to blow up the plane.

Hey the guy is mentally ill and hell no! a Jamaican would never ever think of bombing up a plane he just wanted some form of justice for the murder of his motherand besides he was in iraq what do you expect.

based on what i heard... i dont think he was trying to blow up the plane as he checked the bags and on the a300 or other planes... accessing the lugage from passenger seating seems far fetched.

he certainly wasnt hiding anything which lets me think that he was not aware or understood the magnitude of what he was attempting.

So I think not only is he sick (and it may or may not be trama from mother or iraq) but he doesnt realize todate that he did anything wrong.

I wonder about the trama thing... if it was his mom or pctures of war that he was ill over... i think its the war.

you never know. I'm a trust no one kind of person. guilty until proven innocent. you don't ever really know people. the preacher at the church down the street could be raping his own children. the polite soft spoken guy at work could be a serial killer. everyone in the world knows that you don't board an airliner with explosives. you never know.
