XP vs. Vista? Which is best?
I am in the process of buying a new laptop. I've heard that Vista, the new Operating System has many glitches, problems, etc. Any truth to it? Is it best to stick with XP or is Vista fine? Your help is appreciated. Thanks.

I just got a new Dell PC with vista and I've had lots of problems. It keeps crashing to whats called blue screen and has to reboot all the time. It was $200 less the one with XP and now I know why. I never had any problems with my old computer with XP until I spilled my drink on it and it shorted out and I had to get a new one. I too figured they had all the bugs worked out but I was wrong. I would go with XP if I were you

Vista is so good that Bill Gates just announced the next version of Windows (7) may be out in 2009.
What's that tell you???
TIP: If you want a new XP PC you only have until the end of June 2008 to buy one, unless Microsoft changes the rules AGAIN.

Hi, I would say windows vista, I bought my laptop a year ago with vista & I use every single day & I have had absolutely no problems with it, I also have an apple mac computer which was expensive & I had so many problems with it, the windows vista lap top was less than half price & it has been the best!!!

Go with the flow and stick with Vista. It may not be perfect but it runs better than XP does.

Wait for two more years, until Vista is finally mature. For the time being, there are lots of glitches, compatibility, usability and performance issues.
The best way to go right now is to stick with XP.

XP XP XP!
Also, fyi, a laptop that comes with Vista is very difficult to "downgrade" to XP. So unless you have some tech savvy, you're stuck with it.

xp . vista is good against viruses but it has all those unuseful applications which make the computer very slow and it requires a large ram to run (minimum 1 gb ) but xp even the professional can run on 256mb ram.
