Palm Lifedrive will not reset and is frozen?
I have a Palm Lifedrive for over a year (so the warranty is over). It was frozen so I tried reseting it (both soft and hard reset) with no results. When I turn it on the Palm logo appears and it makes a ticking sound which I'm afraid may mean the hard drive was damaged. Online tech support could not help me they told me to reset which I already did. I'm hoping someone can help me because it costs over $100 to ship the device to Palm for service.
If the hard drive is shot what are my options? Is this something I can fix on my own or will I need to get a new hard drive?
Any opinions or answers are appreciated.

Try a warm reset first, perhaps you can boot up and go through the Palm startup screens and before the Lifedrive accesses the hard disk.
Try this? if you can:

If the HD died, try this:

Good luck.

If this is in the hard drive you will have to take it to Best Buy or Custcity or some place like that and let them look at it. Sometimes it won't cost nothing for them to look at it, so try that and see. Most of the time it is something that is minor.
