I bought a 1974 CJ-5 and the steering wheel feels real close to me when I drive. Is that right???

I am not sure if it is the original. The seat is all of the way back. I can't imagine it being the original. Is there a way to shorten it or replace it???

is there a chance your seat was remounted (at the floorboards) sometimes shorter people did this to get closer to the pedals also they may have had to replace the sissor base as they break and have bene installed to far forward. just a sugjestion though the reverse applys to solve the problem and almost a free answer to your problem.
