Why has the Democrat Party never apologized to African-Americans for its atrocities against them?

The Democrat Party has never issued an apology for the following atrocities against African-Americans:

1. Fought to keep blacks in slavery and founded Ku Klux Klan.

2. From 1870 to 1930, used fraud, whippings, lynching, murder, intimidation, and mutilation to get black votes; passed Black Codes and Jim Crow laws, legalizing racial discrimination and denied blacks rights as citizens.

3. Franklin D. Roosevelt and Harry Truman rejected anti-lynching laws and efforts to establish permanent Civil Rights Commission.

4. Senator Robert Byrd was a leader of Ku Klux Klan; Senator Fritz Hollings hoisted Confederate flag over state capitol in SC as governor; Senator Ted Kennedy recently insulted black judicial nominees by calling them “Neanderthals” while blocking their appointments.

5. John F. Kennedy voted against 1957 Civil Rights Law as a Senator; opposed the 1963 March on Washington as President; had FBI investigate Martin Luther King, Jr. whom he suspected of Communism.

The democratic party was taken over by hardline socialsts in the 1990s after years of concentrated funding from the Soviet Union and China. It is the mantle of Socialism to gain control of a government by spreading hate and discord.

The only way this can be accomplished is that the people are led to believe they are in dire straits. Therefore, democrats are fully invested in what is wrong with American life, they are committed to destroying the middle classes through taxation & regulation and totally devoted to creating distress and division among it's people.

“Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery."

    Winston Churchill

The Dems, as a social gathering, did no longer got here across the KKK. The KKK grew to become into based by a small team of accomplice vets in Pulaski, TN. i recognize the Dems are not appropriate on race (e.g, Woodrow Wilson grew to become into very racist and segregated the federal gov't.). regardless of if, the Dems have been sturdy friends to us because of the fact the hot Deal (e.g, FDR banned activity discrimination between protection contractors, Truman integrated the militia, Johnson signed the Civil Rights of 1964, etc.) and have redeemed themselves by doing so. The issues that the Republicans have accomplished to us on account that 1964 (Willie Horton advert, opposing the MLK trip, etc.) are probably previous redemption. Oh, and as an adjective, it fairly is "Democratic", no longer "Democrat".

Read the Democratic Party platform of 1964.

    Excerpts:

[The Civil Rights Act of 1964 deserves and requires full observance by every American and fair, effective enforcement if there is any default.

    ...

We reaffirm our belief that lawless disregard for the rights of others is wrong—whether used to deny equal rights or to obtain equal rights

    ....

Ending discrimination based on race, age, sex, or national origin demands not only equal opportunity but the opportunity to be equal. We are concerned not only with people's right to be free, but also with their ability to use their freedom.

    ...

We condemn extremism, whether from the Right or Left, including the extreme tactics of such organizations as the Communist Party, the Ku Klux Klan and the John Birch Society.

We know what violence and hate can do. We have seen the tragic consequences of misguided zeal and twisted logic.

The time has come now for all of us to understand and respect one another, and to seek the unity of spirit and purpose from which our future greatness will grow—for only as we work together with the object of liberty and justice for all will the peace and freedom of each of us be secured.

These are the principles which command our cause and strengthen our effort as we cross the new frontier and enter upon the great society.]

In the 1990's, when the Clintons ran the democratic party, the politics of democrats took a hard turn right. If you compare Clinton's platform in 1992 with Richard Nixon's in 1972, Bill makes Dick look like a communist. The guy who suggested that the Democratic party was coopted by the Soviets and the Chinese ought to put the crack pipe down and get in touch with reality.

But, yeah, the democrats suck. That's a given.

Since 1964, the Dems have treated us much better than the Republicans have. For example, while most Republicans objected to the MLK holiday in the 80s, Dems have stood up for Civil Rights. Also, most of the racist Dems who objected to integration (those who are still alive, anyway) are now Republicans...that's why the South went from being the "Solid South" for Dems to being mostly Republican.

Why are you politicizing racism in our history?

You understand that even Lincoln stated that while africans shouldn't be slaves, they are not equal to whites nor should they have voting/property rights...

This is the problem with politicizing history....its available for us all to see.

Not to mention the simple fact that it was an extremely different culture, time and era.....if you think none of that had anything to do with the way we look back on it today....well, you just need help.

Why do people insist on a strictly partisan view of history? How about apologizing to Indochina, Korea, Hati, Nicaragua, El Salvadore, Hawaii, Italy, Greece...oh, and Iraq. Definitely apologize to Iraq.

we did, and basically did a 720 degree turnaround. But all of those racist elements switched to the GOP in 1964. Why did Goldwater, a GOP Prez candidate vote against Civil Rights? Why did Strom Thurmond switch parties that year? Why did John McCain and Jesse Helms vote against a holiday for MLK? Oh yea, Dick Cheney did too. Sorry, your days as the party of lincoln are over. That was 150 years ago.
