Family reunion in Vegas?

We'll be going in July - one of the days will be my birthday! There will be about 20 of us, including a couple of older teens. We were considering the Flamingo. I hear thier pool area is great. Do they have cabana rentals? Has anyone else done a reunion in Vegas? Any feedback or suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

We go twice a year and we ALWAYS stay at the Flamingo! We love their newly re-renovated rooms, and I find the service to be very pleasing. Their pool is very nice. Since the pool in center to four buildings around it, the sun will be at certain parts of the pool, and not at others just at various times of the day. It's a BIG area though. On a very very hot day, that is a good thing. The pool area is very attractive, and we've never rented a cabana, so I can't advise you on that question. We've gone with the whole family, and everyone had a great time. The buffet is GREAT! And, even a platinum card will get you at the head of the line. Their little pizza "cafe" is the best pizza I've had in a long time. Their nite club is fun and quite entertaining!! You have to see it to believe it.....however, it gets packed. There is a great grab-n-go place to get sandwiches which are over a foot long!! They are great, and you can't miss them...,you can see them from the front, and they are very close to the elevators on the opposite side to the casino and check-in....down the hall. Hard to direct, but you'll find it!

Pink Flamingo is on the strip, and you can walk to most casino's and other areas.....no cab needed, unless you plan to go far.

The Flamingo is very nice and has a great location.

Info on the Flamingo pool area - cabana rentals - etc

    http://www.vegas.com/resorts/pools/flamingopool.ht...

Take advantage of the free attractions

    http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/activities.cfm

    Best of the free attractions

    Fountains of Bellagio

    Fremont Street Experience

Masquerade Show in the Sky - Rio

Sirens of TI - Treasure Island

    For a few $$

Top of the Stratosphere Tower - Sunset is best

    Madame Tussauds - Venetian

    Shark Reef - Mandalay Bay

If you would like to take a family day trip I highly recommend Mt Charleston, it's a great place to have a picnic and in July you will appreciate the fact it's 30 degrees cooler up there than in Las Vegas. And, it's only 35 miles North of LV.

    For the teenagers

Gameworks - Showcase Mall, next to MGM, best arcade in the city.

    Buffets - Restaurants

    http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/eat.cfm

My favorite ones for great food at reasonable prices

    Main Street Station

    Orleans

    Gold Coast

    Fremont - Seafood buffet - Sun/Tue/Fri

    Silverton - Lunch

    Green Valley Ranch - Lunch

Palace or Boulder Station - Breakfast

If your group goes downtown be sure and pick up coupons for everyone at the FSE office - 425 Fremont Street, 2nd floor of the parking garage, next to Walgreens. Among other things they have 2-4-1 buffet coupons for Main Street Station, it's already the best value buffet in LV, at 2-4-1 it's too good to pass up(the buffet coupon is not good for Fri or Sat night)

The Fremont has a 2-4-1 buffet coupon also but you can't use it on seafood nights, the seafood buffet is only $15.99 as it is. All we have ever had to do to get the coupons is show an out of state ID.

    Family reunion

Adjoing rooms are kind of nice when you have a group. I don't have the Flamingo down as a hotel that has them, you might ask. A nice hotel that also has a great pool, adjoing rooms and good location would be Monte Carlo.

    Have a great time.

We had a family reunion in Vegas 10 years ago.

It was a lot of fun. There were 23 of u s all together and we had 9 people under 21, and had no problem finding lots of fun things to do.

We stayed at Excalibur and they were very accomodating with our needs.

However, i LOVE the Flamingo, i was married there 2 years ago.

Flamingo is great classic vegas in a great location, at a good price. But the best kept secret is the private residences. With a big party like yours, you could really stay in luxury for less. check out chezpaulina.com

All hotels have cabana's for about 150.00 a day. But check out the MGM Grand river pool - way cool. Reunions are a blast if you all stay at the hotel and on the same floor. just makes it way more fun!!!

Yes and everyone went their own way so it was hard getting people together. When you book the rooms, let them know this is a family reunion and want the rooms banked together. But expect you will be lucky to get together for a show or dinner, because everyone will want to see this or that, gamble, sightsee and not at the same time.

Try Henderson instead. You can go to Vegas, but stay in Henderson. It's cheaper and just as much fun.
