A Modest Proposal Paper HELP!!?
I've been assigned to do a research paper for my 12th grade English class. I chose to do A Modest Proposal. My thesis is "The piece is a satirically conceived effort to propose a method for changing the starving children of Ireland to useful members of the commonwealth by using them as food."
I have to think of three argumentative points for the body.
my first two are
1.) Defining Satire
2.) Showing how a Modest Proposal is a satire
What can my third one be??

the thesis needs to chance very slightly to say
"The piece is a obviously ridiculous proposal for changing the starving children of Ireland to useful members of the commonwealth by using them as a commodity."
1) Define Satire and show how modest proposal is a satire
2) Purpose of writing the satire: ie, He's trying to show how rediculous it is for the commonwealth to treat people of ireland so horribly
3) The target of the satire: ie to make fun of the people who may actually believe it.

You could always break up the second reason into three reasons. Show how the satire succeeds on social, economic, and religious levels.
