Fantasy baseball trade question?
I get:
Nathan
Bay
Okajima
I give:
Papelbon
Fukudome
Sherrill
I already have Putz, Cordero, Lyon, and Izzy as closers, along with Papelbon and Sherrill. I really don't need Okajima, and its unlikely that he would start for me at all. Holds don't count in this league.
If I took out Bay and threw in Chris Young, would it make it better? My OF are already Guerrero, Hart, and Sizemore, so Young wouldn't start, but he would replace Reynolds in 1 of the 2 UTIL spots...
Should I do it?

No, do not do this trade.
Papelbon is arguably one of todays best closers, also Sherrill has 4 SV's and an ERA. of 0.00 so far. Papelbon is also one of the few closers that will rack up quite a few K's. Nathan is great don't get me wrong, but I'm giving a slight edge to Papelbon because he plays for a better team in Boston and get more save chances.
You really don't need RP anyway, i might try to take out Sherrill, Okajima & Bay and try to get Chris Young. That would make the trade more fair, because you aren't really getting anything out of this deal.
Young is a great player, who could easily be a 35/35 threat. Hitting 32 HR's along with 27 SB's last year he is an absolute stud. Not great if your looking for AVG. but you have guys who will cancel that out. Already hitting 4 HR's this year and stealing 2 bases, could be like Soriano with the way he hits.
So i would counter with this: Fukudome, Papelbon and Lyon For Young, & Nathan. If you can, try to keep Sherrill but if you have to go ahead and trade him instead of Lyon.
Hope this helped!!
EDIT: Damn Owner, i wish i got as many responses to my questions as you do. I'm lucky if i get 3 lol.
Yeah i kinda figured that lol.

I don't get how this trade makes you better. Papelbon is the #1 closer. Sherill has been great so far. The only thing I see is that you get Jason Bay and that is based on an assumption that he will do better this year. If you think Fukodome will not do good this year then do the trade but so far he looks pretty good. If you get CHris Young then thaT IS BETTER.

fukudome is batting just under 500, and will mostly likely finish the year great, but sherill and papelbon are both closers and papelbon will probably get 10-15 more saves.
so i would say it's a decent trade, but u may get the lower side of it

I dont see a point in this trade. Papelbon is very good so i wouldnt want 2 trade him fukodome is also good. Sherril is ok but you are giving up way too much.

Lets see....
Id say looking at your team
If it had Chris YOung it is a fair trade and if it is Bay it is not. This is because Nathan is not THAT much worse than papelbon and you dont need OF so Fukudome is not needed. Also Sherill is not going to end off so good so id say good trade.

Trade Lyon instead of Papelbon. Leave Nathan and get a better OF instead. You have too many closers, so you don't need one back.

No, don't do it. The only upgrade you are getting is Okajima, and you said you won't start him. Young is a good move because he is better than Bay and Reynolds.
