I have a small dark red raised bump on my hand where there was a cut. Is this MRSA?

Consult a physician. Do you really want the ppl on this website diagnosing something they cannot see? Besides, just because that may be one of the symptoms of MRSA doesn't mean that your result is a result of it.

My friend has had MRSA for the last 5 months. I highly doubt if you have one little raised bump that it is MRSA. My friend has about 50 quarter sized ulcerated lesions on her body, and it did not start with one little bump. It started with an open wound that would not heal, and it spread, rapidly. Put some neosporin on it, and if it is still bothering you later, go see a Dr. MRSA is not as easy to catch as people think it is. Wash your hands frequently, and be careful around people who are infected with it. IT is a real pain to get rid of, and there are some people who die from it. Good luck.

if you're already in the phasaegeous stage of infection (with one or more raised bumps), chances of successful treatment are reduced. waste NO time in getting medical attention. don't go to sleep even if you are tired...you may not wake up.

fortunately although death from MRSA is fast (usually within 12 hours of the phasaegeous stage,) it's relatively painless - but don't let it get that far.

The fact that it's one or two at a time, makes me think insect bites rather than allergy or illness. Also, maybe ringworm. The picture you showed looks kind of like it and what you describe sounds similar. That's my unprofessional opinion. Probably should get him in to the doctor. If possible, take some pictures of the rashes in with you when you go, just in case he doesn't happen to have any at the time of the appointment. Good luck.
