Will there be another book after EXTRAS by Scott westerfield?

Extras... Amazon says this is the 'thrilling fourth book in the Uglies series' and that it won't be released until May 2, '08... though you can pre-order it there.

But it's pretty crazy, because underneath that book is another looking just like it, released Oct. 2. '07...

Just put the author's name into the search box at the top of the home page (after you follow the link).. be sure you're in the 'books' category... Then you can click on the book on top and see what I saw, just looking all around it.

You can read a great deal about the Uglies series as well as others Westerfeld has written... though it does look like Extras may not be followed, one never knows. And it's a good, well-done site, so I advse you visit there and read much more and with more knowledge than me...

I doubt he will.

1. It's considered to be the Uglies 'Trilogy.' He has four books out. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but it sure can be confusing for someone who randomly picks his book off the shelf and knows nothing of the series.

2. As amazing as Scott Westerfeld is, I don't see how he can further expand on the Uglies Trilogy. If he can and does, he will officially be at the top of my "Geniuses of my Time Period" list.

3. Well, there really isn't a three...

I do hope he'll write more books, and whether or not they are the sequels to Extras really won't make much of a difference to me when I'm looking for a new book to devour. In the meantime, have you read his Midnighters Trilogy? Yeah, just when you thought you couldn't love him anymore.

I just surfed through his website real quick and couldn't find anything, but I sent him an email, and we'll see what we find. if I get a reply, I'll edit this answer.
