What to do with a tarantula that took up residence in my dining room?

I'm not afraid of spiders in general. I'm just not sure what to do with this one. We have rough cedar beams and it's on one of those near the ceiling. Should I try to relocate it outside or should I leave it be to eat flies or moths or other bugs? I have no desire to put it in a tank as a pet, so that's not an option. Just wondering whether to leave it or move it. Opinions?

I'd leave him. They don't have any venom so there harmless alittle dudes. He'll just eat up the other bugs, and doesn't ask for pay! :P

PS, don't sell it to a pet store, that's breaking the law. And if you do take him outside, be careful, Tarantula's are VERY breakable. Drop one at a few feet to the ground they'll fall apart.

Well Yuck. I would get rid of it, they are like wolf spiders, they grow and they move around the house. Unless you want to find one in your bed or shoes or running across the floor when your mother in law is there, I would get rid of it any way I could. And yes, I hate spiders. If you catch it, take it out into the woods where it can't come back. lol

I believe their bites are poisonous so perhaps you should put it outside....or box it and sell it to a pet store.
