Whats the first step in an acting career???
I love acting and have been in plays but I want to take it to the next level. I'm not sure where to go from here. Do I go to an audition? If so, where do I find auditions? Are the ones I find online real? Do I find an agent? Please help! Thanks

Heyy! Thanks for asking such a good question because I am exactly like you!! I want to start an acting career as well and i know what to do...:
1. Get acting classes/go to an acting school
2. Make sure to get acting & Theatre training because it looks good on a resume and will get you alot more jobs!
3. You don't NEED an agent but later on you will need one and it's not soo bad getting one now.
4.You will need acting headshots and a resume so look through your yellow pages for a good, experienced photographer that is willing to do Acting Headshots. Get them done and then on Microsoft Word make a resume...in the sources section I'll add advice for your resume!
5. From there you can go to auditions!! How, you ask?? You can find auditions through the internet, agents and by sending your resume and headshot to casting directors near your area!
...for anymore questions about this you can email me by Yahoo Thanks<3

You don't need an agent, and there is normally a place you can go online that announces auditions in your area, ask your acting teacher, or director if they know what it is. And you have to make sure you don't get discouraged when you are turned away, it happens all the time, some actors only get 1 or 2 shows a year, so thats only about two months they are getting paid for in acting, its a tough field to be in, but if you love it, than it is definitely worth it. :)
