Swollen glands are a more particular sign of mono than sore throat. You need to see a doctor & get a blood test to see if it's mono. If it is, you'll need LOTS of rest - it's no joke.
It could also be a viral or bacterial infection of another type, so it really is important to get checked out & tested. Good luck!

Sounds more like influenza.
If you had mono you would most likely have fever, headache, fatigue, huge swollen glands in the neck, sore throat, trouble sleeping, sensitivity to light etc.
