My Flash Drive won't read or engage? Help!!!!?

I have been using a 2 Gig Flash drive to store information between school and home. Of course, I have major amounts of homework this weekend and need to use it (as all my stuff is on it.) I put it in and the light won't come on and the computer doesn't recognize it as anything. I have done all the simpleton stuff, like blowing on it and wiping it off. My second flash drive does work in both USB ports, this one just won't engage. Is there a way to get the information off of it somehow or someway? Please help.

either try in the back of the computer where the other usb drives are or try to open it from my computer and click on the j drive

  • i had this exact same problem with my Cruzer. Turn your hard drive around and look for the USB port in the back. My printer runs on the backside USB, so i pulled the printer plug and put in my Cruzer. Works fine for me

hopefully the flash drive didn't die...

try restarting the computer and plugging it in only after vista/xp has completely booted up...

if it comes up with an I/O device error.....there's not much I can say except it got corrupted and needs a full format...
