Text Messaging or Phone call?
I prefer text, although if it's someone who can hold a conversation.. definately phone call.
80's kid:
I can hold my place in a conversation.. I'm the one who makes comments when the silence turns awkward, when there's nothing else to say.. etc. But thanks for the assumption!
Phone calls I agree.. more effective, depending on time limited. But seeing as I'm usually always working or at the stables or at school, having a conversation on the tele would be inappropriate. Hense, my love for text messaging :)

Phone call for 90% of the time.
I usually don't text because it requires more work than just speed dialing one of my friends. Talking is also more fun because you can laugh with the person on the other side...it's usually really hard to convey emotions with texting too...emoticons and symbols only go so far.
I usually like to hear the voice of another person.
I only really text if I only need to ask a simple question like "Where are we meeting?" or "What time will you be here?".
I also tend to text during class...which won't be happening much more when I graduate in a month!

Agreed.
I can have a long text conversation with someone I'm not that talkative to in person, but I can hold a conversation with someone I'm close to on the phone for hours.

Depends. If it is just a quick chat, text messaging.
If it is a long conversation, phone calls. (my fingers would fall off if I text someone for 2 hours. Guess I'm not someone who could pull off that feat.)

Text message has definitely an edge over phone call, if I have time, here always recipient gets flexibility to attend. However phone call is effective, especially when we are at work or in hurry. For me both are useful........at work place phone call, at leisure text messages.

If you prefer texting than maybe your the one who can't hold a conversation. I prefer to speak to an actual person. I'm sick of seeing people walking around punching in stupid messages like: where are you now? who do you like? Or is it : where r u?

it depends on how serious they conversation is. Most of the time I text but if its important I would rather call them.
