Why won't my computer recognize my iPod?
I turn my computer on and connect my iPod to it using my USB cable. The symbol and "Do not disconnect" shows up on the iPod screen and it shows that it is charging. Once windows loads properly, I cannot find my iPod when I search in "My Computer". iTunes doesn't even automatically start because my iPod isn't being recognized. Could there possibly be a problem with my USB ports?

Try starting your computer and let it start up completely, wait for all the background processes to finish. Launch your iTunes software and let it load completely. Connect your iPod and wait for it to recognize it. In the iTunes software with the iPod connected you should see your iPod with a summary screen, make sure there is check mark next to Open iTunes when iPod is connected and also next to Enable disk use. Enable disk use allows your iPod to be seen in Windows Explorer.
