    finally someone understands!

thank you for helping to save our environment for one.

    anyways:

NEVER give them plastic bottle they will chew on them and get very ill.

paper towel and toilet paper rolls make fine toys for them they love to run and chew on them and they are quite healthy for them, and the chewing helps to keep there teeth from not getting oversized.

Extra paper towel and toilet paper is always nice for them. They chew on it and burrow in it and it keeps them warm. They make nests out of it.

however newspapers are bad for hamsters, the ink and print and smells can harm the hamster and may cause death.

Cardboard shoe boxes make great homes for hamsters and they enjoy chewing on them and you may even cut a few holes in them and your hamster will enjoy the exercise by crawling threw them.

    Hamsters like corn cobs also.

That sounds fine. Chill. Don't put too much in or the hamster won't be able to move! Why 2 houses? I only had one for my hamster and she pulled all her bedding out into another corner anyway. The house was ignored :( But every hamster's different, I guess.

I saw a really cool hack where this guy put his paper shredder on his hamster cage, and hooked it up so the hamster powered it by running in the wheel.

    It was really cool.

OK, this is the inventor's web site:

And this is a new version, check out the links under the picture.

wen i had gerbils i always put in toilet paper tubes. you can also give them pieces of cardboard, like from cereal boxes, because they love chewing those also. they use them to make nests. and you can also buy plastic toys for them that have been recycled.

if u are creative, you can even make them toys urself, with recycled plastic! jus make sure its safe, like there are no sharp edges and you really shouldnt use toxic glue.

I used to put used toilet paper rolls in my gerbil's cage( without the toilet paper still on them).

paper towels rolls, toilet paper rolls, empty tissue boxes with the plastic removed, anything with cardboard that they can safely chew up.

toilet paper rolls are good. they like to go in and out and sometimes tear them with their teeth. u can also use those mini kleenex boxes and fill it with the wooden fillers and they can sleep in it. its very cozy!

You can shred paper for them to sleep in and use toilet rolls for them, they can go through them or chew them, they love them :)
