I know you said no geckos, but Giant Leaf-Tailed geckos (Uroplatus fimbriatus) can get up to a foot or more in length. Two of them would be perfect for a 25 gallon tank.

try long tailed grass lizards, they are a great and easy to care for starter lizard and you can have about 4 in a 25 gallon tank.
Source(s): i have a few of them but im gonna give them to my bro and get a beared dragon=) - Anonymous1 decade ago
There's alot of small lizards available. Maybe a small plated lizard (forget the name, they have blue heads), or a Jewelled or Curly-tail......
** Edit: Plated is a "Rainbow Plated"--commonly available, near me:

If you don't want a specific pet, and just want to fill a tank because you have an empty tank, then the best lizard is none, or a plastic toy one.
It's an animal, not room decor.
