It may be hairy because I'm sure she'll get mad, and her friend might suddenly deny it leaving you out in the cold, looking stupid. So just maybe give her hints, or ask her leading questions that will make her think. Let her discover it by herself, and by making sure she does, you still helped her find out the truth without risking yourself.
