what is .NET (dot NET)?

Dot net is a Framework. It have so many facility i.e it support more than 30 language to write coding. We can develop web application, Windows application . we can write code in different language for single project.

.Net is not a programming language, .Net is available to several programming languages (Visual C++, VB, C#, and some J#).

Please go troll somewhere else you anti-Microsoft fanboy. While .Net is very powerful, no one is claiming that it can do everything yet, but the stuff it does do now is rediculously easy.

And Mono only has all the functionality of .Net 1.1, which came out how many years ago? It doesn't replicate 2.0 and if you need to do any advanced Windows stuff, you are screwed.

And you can stop spreading your BS, .Net 3.5 Framework is 197MB. I don't know where you get your BS, but you should ask for a refund.

My complaint is .net is a 10-GIGabyte plug-in and the end user or author has to have the full Monty to make a button have actions.
