How many degrees should I cook a whole chicken?
I am making a whole chicken for dinner and I was wondering if I should set the timer to 350'o or 250'o. I am not sure...
Could someone please tell me.
Thank you for responding...

Many people will tell you to cook the chicken at a low temperature for a long time thinking it will keep it moist, but it will only dry it out! You need a higher temperature so you get moist chicken and crispy skin. I roast mine at 425 for 1 hour (~3 lb) to 1.5 hours (~5 lb)--it just depends on size. You can use a meat thermometer inserted in the thickest part of the thigh say 165 degrees F or if you cut between the thigh and the body the juices are not pink.
I've posted a recipe below that is good. I generally don't use the bacon, like it says. I just rub the whole thing with olive oil, salt and pepper and roast!
Hope this helps and I hope you have a moist chicken!

I worked in a chicken shop for a while and we were told to tell customers to cook them at 350*Fahrenheit or 180*Celcuis

I cook mine 350 for 2 hours. It's juicy inside and crispy outside. Just move one of the legs and if the joint is loose, it's done.
