Guitar hero vs Rock Band?

Okay, My community that i volenteer for asked me to start a Video game Turny, and i've asked around and it seems that people like these two games the most, but i'm not a rich bum that can buy everything he likes, especially since its just for a little community thing. Now what one of these two would you recommend for this since i've not played any of them and have no idea what they are about :\

    rock band, more people can play different instruments

    i love both of them, but i'd say Rock Band. You can have more than 2 ppl play at once. You can have a singer, drummer, base player, and guitar player. To me, it's a lot cooler!
