I have a 1998 Vw jetta and all of a sudden the trunk wont open, doors wont lock, and sunroof doesnt work.?
Also my digital odometer turns off when i turn off the ignition but this never occured before, Anyone know what i can do?
and inside dome lights wont work either...... could it be a relay?

Two things to check yourself. 1, try wiggling the key and see if anything comes back to life. I replace ignition switches quite regularly on VW. 2, Check under the drivers seat and foot area to see if insulation under carpet is wet. If it is you have a problem with the wiring connectors under it. Take your car to a VW tech and have it looked at . All your symptoms are somewhat common.

First, I would get a Haynes manual for your specific car. This handy book will save you thousands of dollars on repairs if you are willing to get your hands dirty.
Second, read the part of the book that covers electrical troubleshooting. I'd bet that your problem is in there.
You could also call an auto parts store. They will usually give out free advice to get you to buy their parts.

Sounds like a fuse or a short - Check your user manual for fuse information.

if its used, u dont know what that cars ben through, if not,its a sign to take it to a shop or buy a new one
