Does anyone know if the animals healed themselves after the Exxon Valdez oil spill?

Or did the people just heal the animals and nature hasn't been able to recover since?

This is a serious question and I would really appreciate if no one would get on here and rant please, thanks.

Most animals getting in touch with oil died. Some birds were saved by humans.

Oil has been collected away and rest is mostly degraded - local ecosystem took some damage but is already getting better. It will bounce back eventually - this can take decades but it will.
