What kind of coverup/cardigan should I wear with a halter top dress??
I have a pretty formal anniversary party to attend this weekend and I need something to wear over my dress. The dress' design looks similar to the one in the picture but it's burgundy and white. Any suggestions you have for a cover up, cardigan, etc. would be great! The party's at a house that looks out to the ocean in SoCal so I'm sure that I'll need something to keep me warm. Thanks!!

Well, I think a short cardigan, the type they have in Forever 21 is good!

I think a cropped, fitted cardigan in a luxe fabric would be best would be best. Since your dress is black, be creative with the colors/fabric. Try a bright color that will pop, or a cardigan with metallic gold or silver threads. Wraps could work also, but are dressier, and would look "old" if you are under 30.
BTW: I agree with your answer Lins, but pressed thumbs down by accident. Oops!

I personally like the cropped cardigan sweaters. Those are very flattering to the waist. With a halter top I think it would look great.

That's a great dress. I'd keep cover ups simple. Get a plain black pashmina or silk scarf. If it's going to be a really cool night, maybe a cropped shrug sweater in black.

Some type of shawl, or wrap. Just something simple to cover your shoulders.. As someone mentioned.. perhaps a faux fur one.

yeah i would say go for a wrap rather than a cardigan... they would suit the style better and are very elegant too ..

What about a pashmina, that you could wrap round yourself tie at the back if you feel like but will look elegant and keep you warm
