why do alot of Hispanics do not except there ancestory?

I am Puerto Rican and I know exactly what you mean. It is that European blood that runsthrough the veins in Hispanics that make them feel that they are better. The thing is you have your really ghetto black people that the MEDIA like to put on TV all the time. Hispanics like to think that they are not mixed with that. It is an image that whites have implanted in the minds of Hispanics that black is bad. I love being mixed and I love my curly hair. Since the majority of people in the US are white then light skin and straight hair become the social norm. However, once Hispanics and blacks become the majority our hair and skin will be beautiful.

Isn't if funny that 'Rosa' has a light skinned avatar with straight hair yet she talks about loving her curly hair......lol

You think that's bad? I know a full blooded Mexican girl who denies that she's Mexican! She works at a spa I go to (and she's a beautiful girl) and I asked her if she was Greek (she really looks greek more than Mexican but her skin is darker than most Greeks) because she looks *just* like one of my friends who is Greek, and she said "oh I don't know what my nationality is..." I thought well that's odd... Then about a week later I run into her in a restaurant sitting with her family-about 20 of them and all Mexican lol! I guess maybe she is ashamed because of the illegal immigration issues and prejudice?

I think blacks are great. But its that Africa has so much trouble that people don't want to associate with that part of history.
