which is a better book twilight or harry potter?

in my opinion twilight is better

Though there are many similarities, I still feel like it's comparing apples and oranges. The books are so different; so unique! But, I do feel like J.K. Rowling has really enbraced the world she created more than Stephenie Meyer. Ask Rowling any miniscule little question- birthdays, parents' names, anything!- and she can answer it just like that. When asked Jacob's birthday (Jacob Black! A MAJOR character!) Stephenie Meyer said she hadn't thought of one! To me, although I love both of these books, I feel like the story of Harry Potter is so deep, so well thought out, that I could go to King's Cross and just run through that brick wall! I completely lose myself when I read Harry Potter. Although I really enjoy reading Twilight and I get really into in the characters' stories, I still know that what's happening is a STORY- she doesn't have me believing that Edward is real... I can close the book, and my mind will be here you know?- I'll be able to come back and focus on whatever is going on. But with Harry Potter, I'm in sort of a trance while I read it, and it takes me a bit to get my mind out of the Gryffindor common room, if you understand what I mean. But, both books are amazing and well worth taking the time to read!

p.s.- I had only read the first four HP books before this summer, but one day I just decided I was going to read the last two so I could read book 7. I'm so glad I did and I would really recommend you giving the last few books a shot!

Just to let you know I am a die-hard Twilight fan. Still, I haven't even read Harry Potter and I think it is a better series just from hearing my friend talk about it and seeing the movies. Harry Potter is a phenomenon. It is a extremely creative and well-thought out story. Twilight is awesome, but I think it's kind of annoying how people are comparing them. Like the girl above me said--apples and oranges. I bet J.K. Rowling could have never pulled off the romance thing as well the same way Stephenie Meyer probably would never have thought up an invisibility cloak. That's just the way it goes.

Harry Potter all the way! The books are so much better. Each book has clues leading up to what will happen in the end. Twilight's character's do not nearly have as much depth as Harry Potter's characters.

Twilight is good, but the characters are so.....ugh. Bella gets whinnier by the book, Edward becomes the most overprotective person ever. I wouldn't even read the books if it wasn't for someone else that comes up in NEw Moon :]

P.S. Anyone that says that Twilight is better has not read Harry Potter. Twilight has recently become really popular, so I'll bet that most of your answers will say "Twilight"

Harry Potter series is better because of Harry's adventure and the last book wraps everything else.Also the epilougue is so AWESOME!The twilight series is to romantic, but you will have to be dream world for all this to happen.I like the twilight series, but I got so attached to the series and I was kind of messed up.

HARRY POTTER! its a freaking classic! i love those books.

but really there is nothing i wouldn't like more than i like twilight. seriously EDWARD AND BELLA ARE SO ANNOYING! jacob is pretty hot, but reading those books and having to go through bella and edward complain about their "virtue" and crap, is just not worth it.

Pfft. TWILIGHT! Harry Potter's cool and all, but Twilight's cool AND romantic!! I JUST LOVE TWILIGHT! Besides, isn't Edward Cullen just the SWEETEST guy you'll ever meet? :)
