Tivo & TIme Warner No Signal???? Please Help?
Ok, I just switched from direct tv to time warner cable...ugh....so I reset up my tivo to work with the new box. My set up is like this: AV cords from tivo to the tv, Coaxial cable from the wall to the in position of RF splitter, coaxial cable from the tivo to the out position of RF splitter, coaxial cable from the motorola interactive digital communication cable box to the ou in the RF splitter. Now the problem is that the screen has a choppy picture or snowy picture on some screens and on MOST of the other channels it says:"searching for signal on: Basic Cable in"...Any suggestions??? TIps??? Please Help! Thank you in advance

So let me see if I have this right, so from the wall, it goes Wall>Splitter>TiVo>TV and Wall>Splitter>Cable Box>TV, right?
First, if you haven't done so already, you will need to change the settings on the TiVo to have the tuner select channels (it seems to me, when you had DirecTV, the tuner on the TiVo was set to only use channel 3 or 4, then to have an IR device control your DirecTV box and change channels, so instead of the TiVo sending a command to change channels, the TiVo itself needs to change channels), if the TiVo is already set up like that, the problem may be that it dosen't work well with splitters
If you have it set up that way, you will only be recording basic cable on the TiVo, not what is on the cable box, if you want to record from the box, you will need to rewire it, I will explain below
First, you will want your connections, starting from the wall, Wall>Cable Box>TiVo (all with coax from the wall to TiVo)>TV (with either coax or AV), then you need an IR device from the TiVo to the cable box, so that way, the TiVo can change the channels on the cable box when it needs to record a show, and when the TiVo changes the channel on the cable box, it will take the video coming from the cable box and play it on the TiVo, the TiVo will then record the video coming in
If you still can't get it to work, you may want Time Warner to come out and set up the TiVo for you, or you may want to switch back to DirecTV
