Xbox downloading help please?

Whenever I try to download the Halo 3 downloadable content, it says that my account is not permitted to download content with that particular rating. However, when I go to the family settings and other settings similar to it, I allow myself to do everything. Why is it forbidding me to download stuff for Halo 3?

if your account is only a silver membership then it wont allow you to get it...check and see if your account is gold or silver...if the problem keeps acting up, call the xbox support at 1-800-4-MY-XBOX

I'm not sure whether downloading content from Halo 3 requires a gold membership (I don't have the game) but there is a chance it may. It could also be that downloads are blocked on the parental controls. Check it out. You can get a free trial from buying a certain few games, or you can get it from using your credit card or by getting the cards at stores ($7.99 for one month, $29.99 for 3 months, and $49.99 for one year, which I've seen with an extra month tacked on lately) Also, xbox live does offer free weekends where you get gold that entire weekend, including all the benefits, though I'm not sure where to check and see when they are coming up. I think they are random. >.> I hope I helped you.

I have this same problem. It's mainly because when I signed up my account was under 18. So even with the parental approval you may not be able to still download it. You may need to contact Xbox. It also affects most downloadable content.

Check your age with the account you are trying to download it from. If you have yourself set as under 17, it won't let you download it.

It doesn't matter if you have Gold Member ship or Silver membership. It does matter if you have enough points though.

I would try checking out the email account linked to your Gamertag and see if that is causing the problem. You might have a young age there.

I had this problem to, it is because when you where making your account you told them your birthday and you wont be able to download any M rated items until your account says you are 18. I tried the same thing you did with my settings but it didnt work. Try putting the game in the tray then download it, it worked for me. but if this fails you can call Microsoft at 1800-4MY-XBOX

That's too asy. I too have an Xbox and in it there is a service which can stop to download any software without any prior information of the user.

You probably have a childs account. When you first created your gamertag you probably entered a birth date that shows that you're not 18 years old. You should still be able to dowload the legendary and heroic map packs though.

when you made your account if you put under 18 your not aloud to download content thats not your age thingy

the only explanation is that you have a silver account...the reason i say this and not that it's because you have a child's account is because i myself have a child's account and DID download the maps...so sorry man, i didn't want to disclaim you...but I'm living proof your wrong...

I think I remember something about the credit card it's attached to. I also agree with the guy above me.
