windows live messenger?

is there a way to install the latest version of windows live messenger 8.5 on windows xp sp1 , I can not not afford to change my operating system. - thanks

    i opt to apply gtalk. that is ordinary, and also you should incorperate your yahoo, target, and msn friends all into the gtalk. that is exceeded trillian in stability and ease. it doesnt get overly gaudy with ineffective smilies and emoticons. that is person-friendly and chic.
