What are your feelings about...?

the polygamist ranch in Texas? What do you think should happen with the 400+ children? http://www.zwire.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=19496565...

Could you imagine having to do DNA testing on all of these kids? What a mess to try and figure out!

Update:

If you don't like the question, don't answer and move on!

It breaks my heart for the kids. This world in alot of ways is a really messed up place with too many sick people. Sadly so many children suffer each day and are unable to be saved. I hope this ones get a chance at a real life.

This is a sad case and will cause trauma to the kids involved.

I personally think that people (authorities involved) got excited because of the issue of 13year old girls being married off to older men.

In many countries the age for marriage is about the time a girl has her first period (around 13). This is not the ideal, but if it is the religious belief of a group of people then we cannot deny them the right to believe in this and practise it.

I am not a US citizen so I don't wish to say more, except that it would be a good idea to have religious freedom for even those you disagree with, which is what this case is about.

I think it is very VERY sad! All those girls not even a woman yet being forced to have relations with older men and then have their babies from it. Their childhood is lost forever. I watched the interview of some of the mother's and something is def. not right with them. It was almost like they were in this dream like state and would never answer a question straight forward like the one they asked about how old are the girls when they first are allowed to get married. NOT ONE of them gave a straight forward answer. I think they all should go to ppl. who can take care of there mental, emotional state. Good ppl. who will love them like a father and mother should love there daughters and sons. I mean it must be devastating for them! I would take some of them in, no question.

well i live in Texas and keep on hearing about this. I think its really sad. The whole thing and the fact that they are poligamists. I feel like these children need to know that they can tell the people what has been happening and how they feel. they dont' need to be scared. I wish i could help them. It isn't right to be married when you don't want to be

I think they should be taken away from the parents.

Everytime someone asked them if the kids were abused, they changed the subject and said something stupid.

Its like, if theyre not being abused, then just say no when asked. Dont stand there and make yourself look stupid and guilty.

Give the kids back and keep them under close supervision. I don't believe in their lifestyle, but they're not eating their kids. They are marrying them off too young--thus the supervision.
