depression?

ok so i had a doctor appointment on thursday the 17th to just have a check up. well i guess acording to the doctor i'm suffering from depression. so now what? she gave me a trial pack of lexapro, so i hope it helps some. i haven't been feeling myself latly. i've been tired all the time and just no energy to do anything. i started to do yoga to help reduce my stress, i don't know if it's helping much. any other suggestions?

Well, it's good that you've acknowledged it, so now you can start working on feeling better. I had the same thing happen to me a few months ago. I finished the Lexapro trial pack, and then was prescribed Prozac, but I decided that I didn't want to resort to anti-depressants. I started taking better care of myself by exercising. I can't emphasize this enough. Exercise really does help A LOT. I still have my days where I sink back into it, but I catch myself. I know it sounds like some kind of AA meeting thing, but you've reached the first step by acknowledging it.

I would advise you to supplement your therapy with alternative natural methods, such as art therapy - either actively or passively. There is a great resource for a free artistic depression treatment at this site: http://www.talidari.net/depression-treatment.html.

You'll get there a free multimedia aid kit, with fun ways to beat depression. For example, artistic remedies such as audio serum, inspirational stories, insightful videos, room acupuncture and much more.

If you follow the fun guidelines there, I'm sure you'll put depression where it belongs - in the past,
