I have to deal with a similar problem. Fortunately for me, someone posted a recipe for ant baits that actually works:
2 tablespoons Borax
1/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup water
Mix everything together until the sugar and borax dissolve. Dip bread crusts in the solution and put them where you see the ants. You might want to more or less block the baits so your critters can't get at them.
The ants will swarm all over the baits, eating them and carrying them back to their nests. Within a couple of days, the nest will be dead.
Good luck!

First it is good to try to locate the reason they are coming in to your house. Get rid of that. Then try to find where the ants are coming in. It might even be your door or a tiny opening along your window frame. They usually follow a trail that is made by scent. The scent is similar to vinegar. If you pick up an ant that scent will be on your fingers, if you are brave enough to try it.
When you locate the source and the trail spray that area with vinegar. You will have to do it often, but because the scent is similar to the ants scent it confuses them.

They hate vinegar. I used it to some degree on my floors with a water to wash to kitchen floors. It helped to some degree.
