How Many of You Brits - would like to have Margaret Thatcher back as PM?

I would LOVE to have Maggie back. Some of her policies were not popular (but whose are?) but what I admired about her most of all was her steadfastness. That woman was in her own words, not for turning. She would not be pushed around by the policitally correct brigade that have turned this country into a nation of apathetics. People expect to be looked after the State from cradle to grave, benefits given out like smarties and never reviewed, the most vulnerable go without whilst those capable of working bleed the state dry whilst laughing all the way to the bank. She wouldn't have fallen for this saving the planet trash like the whinging bunch of eco warriers that drone on. Yes, Maggie will go down as one of the greatest Prime Ministers of the last century - she took this country out from the dark ages - painful at times for all but it was worth it. She gave opportunities to those that before her, could only dream of.

She stopped what was at that time a large amount of strikes and considering that strikes are now on the increase again. ie the teachers and the oil refinery at Grangemouth to name just 2 it could be a good idea. But I guess that now due to her age and health I doubt if she would even consider it.

If it was Maggie in her prime,absolutely.

She was one of the best Prime Ministers in history.
