Is there any way to recycle shredded paper?
Since all our recyclables get thrown in together they have to be sorted at some point, so I've never thrown shredded paper in there figuring it would just become so many pieces of litter at that point. Is this true? If I put it in a sealed paper bag would it get around the problem? If processes vary from place to place, I live in Southern California.

i am involved in a recycling group at my college and this issue came up for us as well. at first our recycling place was unable to take shredded paper, but they grew into a larger facility and are now able to receive shredded paper. so to answer your question you need to call your recycling center number and simply ask, because it all depends on them. i am not certain which facility you are going to, because you have over 20 different options for Southern California, but here is a link that you can use in order to find the number of the exact location you are using.

Yes it can. We recycle over 50,000 tons of shredded paper a month. Most becomes tissue paper but some becomes new office paper. Don't but it in the sealed bag as it will simply be tossed when the newspaper is sorted. Call you curbside company to see how they would like it.

You can recycle shredded paper by putting it inside of the recycle bin that's either for newspapers or for anything and put it out for the garbage men to come and get.

I had the same problem. I just use my shreaded paper as packing materials and I use it in presents for padding in the boxes. I also use it to line pet cages (hamsters and birds). If I have any left, I put it in a garbage bag that is see-through and they pick it up in the recycling. Good luck!

i imagine the significant reason better organizations do not recycle that is because they don't experience there is funds to be made in recycling shredded paper. that is unlucky because interior the lengthy run there's a larger value to buying new paper and causing better timber to must be reduce down. i'd say in case you'll burn it and under no circumstances recycle it then use the paper to help commence your grill in case you take advantage of charcoal or to commence a hearth interior the hearth or at the same time as tenting. in case you take advantage of it to commence your charcoal in a grill then you do not ought to apply lighter fluid and your nutrients will flavor significantly better effective. through the way thanks to the previous poster who gave practise on a thanks to recycle the shredded paper. i visit placed them to sturdy use when I definitely have an apartment of my own.

If you can treat it with fire retardant, it makes the worlds best attic insulation. It never needs to be reapplied like fiber glass does and if you treat it with boric acid it will kill bugs like termites.
Source(s): Tap pest control insulation. All cellulose, (that means shredded paper).
