check your yellow pages under 'hobbies,' then visit the various shops to see and experiment with and talk about what the shops offer. they often offer classes.

even if something sounds boring, for example model trains, go anyway. the shop may have other hobbies that would interest you.

check the museums in your area--they sometimes have classes in various techniques. check the local colleges, the same applies.

talk to your friends, maybe some of them have ideas but don't want to go to classes alone.

how about prestamped cross stitching. Its very relaxing, peacful, NO stress. I love to sit & do it while Im watchign tv, movies, waiting at the doctors office anythign when I have alot of time on my hands waiting.
