POLL:Do you hate your dad?
cuz i hate mines
he is the biggest arrogant selfish
a$$ hole in this planet
He always calls me ugly ,fat, and stupid
and he always puts my confidence down and makes me
feel bad about myself
anyone else hate their dad
Wow it really helps to know that I'm not the only one .
My dad gave me a hard time since i was little.
Growing up being called fat when I was as skinny as a stick was hard.
I have learned not to listen anymore.
I also learned that the more i distant myself from him the better.
But when he calls me those names, somtimes he says them to my face, and sometimes he says it to my brothers.
Its hard but Its great not to be the only one thanx guys this really helps!

I used to when I was younger, he used to cheat on my mom for my entire childhood and he wasn't very good at hiding it and my mom was in total denial, so that sucked and to top it off he had a habit of calling me a piece of sh* t whenever he didn't like something I did. Nice, I know.....as I got older my parents finally got divorced and he remarried some giant woman that seriously looks like a man, and is a complete moron. I didn't talk to him for a long time. Over time though he really has grown up, it took him until he was around 50 yrs old to get his crap together, but I really do forgive him and we have a pretty good relationship now, I guess I've forgiven him, but I'll never forget, so a part of me will never really trust him the way a daughter should. I just couldn't stand walking around angry anymore, it was hurting me more than it was hurting him.

I love mine but I know where your coming from
my dad always tells me i need to work out more and i should study more.
I don't know why he tells me since im on honors and not over weight
I know exactly where your coming from
Just do what you think is right
Do you think your fat?
He may just be trying to look out for you and doesn't really know a nice way to do that
Do yoiu think your stupid
With most people the first thing that leaves there mouth when there angry is stupid. He might not even mean that your stupid he might just have said that and doesn't know how to apologize
what ever you do don't feel bad about yourself
Do something
treasure the time you have with your dad
if he is as bad as you say he is. don't listen to him
make sure you put emotional distance from him
I mean like don't listen to him make an emotinal block from his comments. Build up closure so that the next time he calls you fat you'll be fat and no how to respond
YOu could also confront him If you do think about what you say
You might want to allow yourself to yell at him
You might have some things to say to him that have to be said
I would be careful though and not say to many mean things
good luck

This is not your real father. Our Lord Jesus is. I am very sorry you have a mean father and boy when he meets the Lord when he dies he better look out. God will have him pay the consequences. You need to talk to your Mom and to your school counselor about it. You can't deal with this alone. I would even call Social Services if you have to. Call Teen Hotlines. They can guide you.

When I was in my twenties, I trained for different careers, and my father, who was a strict, fundamentalist Christian, wouldn't let me go and work, unless it was in his home county in Kentucky, and "thump the Bible" on Sundays.
I had to wait until I was thirty, when my father died, to get my freedom, and by then, it was too late, and I've been on relief ever since then.
So, yeah, I despise my father, and I hope he pays dearly for what he did to me, not just in this life, but also in the next life.

No, I used to feel that way, but now that I'm on my own I have a different respect for my dad, but your dad shouldn't put you down or call you names

This is EXACTLY how I feel about my father. You are definatly not alone..Although he's never called my ugly, fat, or stupid he has called me a f***** before..... Yeah.. Great way to say I love you.

I love but don't really like my dad. He was rarely there for us kids, did nothing to prepare me for manhood, and could be a real jerk.

I love him in the sense that I kinda have to because he's my dad... but other than that, I hate him. He ruined and keeps ruining my life. He also acts like a child.
