The light is yellow because it is connected or trying to connect to a wireless connection. You could set it so that it doesn't do that by changing the settings. The game slot is blinking because you've gotten a message from someone.

The Wii's address is located in the bottom right. after you click that it is the icon 2nd to the left on the bottom. You need to be connected to the internet to get your address

The yellow light means its on wiiconnect24...that means you can buy the internet and VC (virtual console) games, and the blinking game slot means you have messages (mainly from nintendo if you havent given your console number to anyone)...and to find your address, click on the wii circle button, then click send message, and then address book and itll be on the cover

    this isn't a bad thing. don't worry

you have it hooked up to the internet, right?

    that's why.

WiiConnect 24 sends you updates and info even when your system's power is off. The orange light means it's in Standby mode, the power is off, but you can still recieve messages. When you recieve a message, the disc slot lights up.

if this stuff bothers you, you can turn all this off in the options menu, under "WiiConnect 24".

There are separate options to turn off Standby mode, and to turn off the slot illumination when you get a message.
