Where is the Transmission filter?

I have a 94 Dodge Colt ES and i cant seem to find a transmission filter anywhere. You know, the dipstick where i can put the fluid in. Its nowhere to be found. Im going crazy! i need to find it before my car messes up completely and i have to pay a ton of money to fix it. Its an old car, so i dont understand it. Can you help. Where the heck is it?

You are more likely to find it from underneath the car on the driver's side. It will have a bunch of bolts around it (12 or so) and you will undo those and the filter will be in a metal case with a piece that has magnets on it to attract metal shavings. If it's a manual transmission, you will not have a filter. You will only have to fill it up or drain it if it gets dirty. The fluid should be red. Hope this helps.

if its a manual you probably dont have one. you will just have to drain the fluid and carefully put new in. if its automatic it should be inside the transmisson. you will have to take the pan off from under the car and find out what kind of filter it is to replace it.

Some don't have a check stick they have a only a drain and fill plug. You fill till fluid comes out the fill hole on the side of the trans.

Pop off the transmision fluid pan on the boron of the transmision and it is right there. Big, usually black, right in the front, easy to get at.
