How about that Astros offense?

So the Astros just swept the Padres (one of the best pitching teams) winning both games with 10 and 11 runs.

So what do yall think about he Astros now that the offense has finally figured out what is going on? The pitch has been pretty good so far despite everyone saying it wasnt going to be good.

Padre's pitching has been struggling lately especially the bullpen. What was the best bullpen in the National league last year turned to be one of the worst this early season. Padres need to step it up, they don't have big names in the offensive category so if they want to win games they need their pitching prowess again.

As for the astros, Miguel Tejada is one of the big key's to Astro's offense against the Padres. He's 7 for 9 in the already finished season season, and when you have a hitter that hot against a team, they're bound to produce somewhere.

I wouldn't describe their pitching as "pretty good." Their ERA is 24th in the league, and even Oswalt had a terrible start. The Astros also have one of the worst OBPs in the league, and the offense is averaging only 3.2 runs on the road (28th, ahead of only the lowly Dodgers and Giants). Berkman and Tejada are playing well, and Oswalt should be fine, but the Astros are one of the weaker teams in the NL. I think they'll win about 71 games.

I'm still a little skeptical of their realistic chances (because of the pitching), but with Tejada, Berkman and Lee, that's about the best 1-2-3 punch in baseball. These last 2 games definitely give Astros fans a bit of hope! I think they have a chance.

i agree padres pitching has sucked lately, the marathon game that went to thee 22th inning really took its toll on the pitching staff specially the bullpen...not only the astros scored a bunch of runs but the d-backs did also...i honestly think is poor pitching more than awesome offense....bu they do have a great line up....
