What is a normal percentage of BEST ANSWERS?

Many users aim for a best answer percentage of around the ten to twenty percent mark. Above this mark is considered to be very good, however a few users have obtained best answer percentages into the nineties.

Remember that you do not need a high best answer percentage to reflect how good your answers are. As long as you take the time to provide good, quality answers, you shall be helping community members.

If you wish to increase your best answer percentage, I recommend the following

Answer questions that have very few answers, this increases your chances of gaining best answer without having to compete against other users.

Use good grammar, a sense of humour and be friendly. Appeal to the author of the question.

If the question goes into community voting, feel free to self vote your answer as best. Help yourself get ahead of the game once in a while - it's not against the rules.

Apparently you've gotten a few Best Answers since posting this question as you are at 3%. I hover around 30-31%. I'd say 3% is on the low side, but it takes time to get that percentage up. It looks like you answer some real questions and give good answers. So I think you will see your percentage go up over time. It's the real questions that require some thought and/or knowledge of a topic to answer that generally get awarded more Best Answers.

I usually see users with best answer percentages from 10% to 20%. In this category the people have more best answers though, because there are a lot of knowledgable top contributors here =]. 2% is actually very low, but you haven't been here for too long.

I only have 8%, but I'm working on it.

- Use correct spelling and grammar

- Be friendly. Never curse!
