should i forgive my dad's side of my family even if they was neva there!?

I can speak from personal experience have a one side of the family that I have a relationship with and the other side not really being apart of my early childhood into young adulthood.

If they didnt really attempt to connect with you and form those earlier bonds the best thing to do is to move forward with your life and focus on the positive things such as your other family.

Life is too short to wonder and think about people that weren't there for your or were distant from your life and you shouldn't give them power in your life now by consuming your thoughts.

While you cannot choose your family you can CHOOSE HOW YOU LET THEM INTO YOUR LIFE!

If they try to contact you now and you dont feel comfortable with that I would let them know that you don't think it would be good to do so given your past relationship

Say it in the nicest way but let them know that they cant just come in and out of your life and expect you to have not real feelings about the matter whatsoever.

give them a chance. what's the worst that can happen? have you made an effort to make them a part of your life? life is short, but family is forever. think about it.

my dad's side of the family has never made an effort to be in my life, but in january my dad's grandmother died and it brought all of us together. it got me to thinking that this shoudn't be the only time we get together. lets put the bulls*** aside and remember what family is about.

Are they contacting you for money, then no.

Are they contacting you for a family relationship and forgiveness and to start anew, then sure!!!
