I'm having digestion problems related to my job. What could it be?

I've been truckdriving for almost a decade. In the last few years I've noticed changes in my body that seem to be attributed to sitting and driving for long periods. Currently, I notice my abdomen increasing in size. I've always had a sixpack so my abs were always tight. It seems like a fight for space. Bowel movements are getting increasingly more difficult because it seems like everything is tight in my abdomen. I also get real tired before a bowel movement. I figure its because my body has to strain to pass the matter. What could be my problem? I had a ct scan of my abdomen a few months ago so its not a tumor. I do know the driving is causing or atlest making the problem worse. Any ideas?

i also have slight pains on the sides of my body sometimes and lower back pain.

Update 2:

i should have added that I do eat healthy most of the time. I run 1-2 times a week and get a whole lot of fiber.

    A few things you could try would be to avoid sitting for extended periods of time (even if you're on a tight schedule. Check with OSHA -- they may have some information on legally acceptable rest periods for truck drivers), Adjust your seat so you have good lumbar support and upright posture, maintain a healthy diet and move your bowels regularly so they don't cause you pain. I'd also recommend seeing a doctor. He/She can offer some more suggestions.

    It may be an occupational hazard and you, yourself, pointed this out. You've become a couch potato on wheels.

    Drink more water. Make more stops and get out and walk around. Stretch your muscles. Increase dietary fiber. Cut out refined and fast food. On those days when not driving, increase your exercise/activity.

    The first thing to try is to alter your diet drastically. Increase your fiber intake, concentrate on fresh fruits & vegetables, drink more water & juice, get regular exercise, if necessary add a stool softener to your diet. Try to get regular sleepl. I understand that your occupation is against you, but by changing your intake, you will most likelly be able to improve your output!!
