No, unfortunately, you cannot keep a wild duck as a pet in the US. In the US, all native migratory birds are protected under federal law (Migratory Bird Treaty Act), and it is illegal to keep any protected bird unless you have the required permits. Penalties for violating this law include fines of up to $500 and/or up to 6 months in jail for each offense.
Contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitator. You should be able to find one here: http://www.tc.umn.edu/~devo0028/contact.htm or here: http://www.wildliferehabber.org/
Licensed wildlife rehabilitators have the specialized training to care for sick, injured and orphaned wild animals, and they have the required state and federal licenses that allow them to keep the wild animals until they are healthy enough to be released.
edit - "Don't want to get rid of it love it when i first saw it."
Please reread the part that says it is illegal to keep a wild duck as a pet. Also, if you really loved it, you would want it to live its life the way it was meant to, to grow up in the wild and take a mate and raise more generations of ducks in the wild.

Wow well this is all the esenchales that it needs.
Well first they need chicken starter witch you can buy at a local pet store(I know its not a chicken but they eat this stuff to). They need water(just tap water is fine) and to give them a health bost put about half a tsp of suger in the water. They will need shelter a storage bin will do just fine and for the bedding of the bin newspapers will do.Do NOT I repeat do NOT put slick paper witch is like food advertisment or there leggs will star to spread apart and they wont be able to move and they will DIE.They also need light close near buy at ALL times even at night. That should get you started on the baby Duck thing. If you have any other questions just send me an E-mail or something.Good Luck

Yay!! Love baby ducks!! We've raised a ton, as well as geese, chickens, turkeys, you name it :) You can get what is called laying mash at your local feed store (depending on where you are...most rural areas have one or more) dump it in a ceramic crock, put that next to a larger ceramic crock of water (this will need to be changed several times a day, you'll see why) and you're set!
As it grows older and develops a full set of feathers then you can switch to a mixture of scratch and mash. Just scratch generally doesn't have enough nutrients. Also, mud is very important for them so if your little guy doesn't have access to dirt then you can provide a little dish of mud for him to bibble in (yes that is a technical term ;) (make sure there's no concrete, dog pee, etc, in the dirt, just nice clean mud.)
Have fun!
(Just because you found it wandering the streets does not make it a native bird and does not make it illegal to keep. Since it came up to you in a parking lot it most likely escaped from someone's yard or they dumped it, I doubt its a 'native migratory duck', they generally don't come running up to people.)

same happened to me 1 a year and half ago...
he was my pride and joy! I envy you! dont pay attention for the person below!
what will be better for a lost duckling then to find a new mom? they are adorable, follow the other instructions (about feeding, swimming and lodge!
he will be fine with you if you have time (they need a lot of attention) put mirrors where eventually he will like to sit , around the house, so he can feel that he is not alone! duckling are very social kind!
good lucky from all my heart!

Yes you can - they're fairly easy to raise. Although I would first suggest looking around for the momma and putting it back with her.
But if you're going to keep it, go to the nearest feed store and buy laying hen ration - not chick ration - the medication in chick ration is not good for ducks. They need constant access to food and water to drink and swim in - they poop alot. They also like to eat grass and weeds. Ducks are primarily nocturnal - so they tend to sleep more during the day.

yes. they should eat non medicated chick starter found at a local feed store. when they get older you can feed them duck pellet. they love lettuce, watermelon, and other fruits and veggies.
