Grisley bear kills trainer, should he be put down for doing his bear thing?
This one is a hard one to call? This bear has been making movies and commercials for quite some time, but now that he's acting like a bear, should he receive the death penalty?

No, he is a bear. People that work with wild animals should know that there is a chance that this animal will attack them. They are wild. You take the bear out of its natural environment and try to train it. It might work for a little bit but there is always the chance that it will regress.

Absolutely not as the animal does not have the sense to know what it has done. It may have been playing and been too rough. It does not now know man is weaker than he. It does not know it killed anyone or what death is. Unless a bear is a lot smarter than I think it is, it cannot be held accountable for actions committed in an unnatural environment. If the bear had been in the wild and sought out man as a diet my answer would be different.

I am unsure, but to say the least, the attack should be heavily examined and so should the bear before they consider using him again.
In my opinion, the bear should not be destroyed. He can not be returned to the wild as he has never learned survival skills and at 5 years of age, it may be too late for him to learn on his own as he has no mother to show him how. I would suggest a zoo with a large enclosure.

If anything he should just be put in a zoo or let out into the wild if that's possible. Bears are bears, trainers know the risk.

Unless they put the griz in a zoo, he should be put down. He won't last out in the wild and, like they say with dogs, once it's happened and probably will happen again.
It's a sad matter because the bear was just being the bear. It doesn't deserve the death penalty, but it won't have a good life if it doesn't. It's a screwed up matter.

It's not a hard call at all. There's a reason why most people don't try to control Grizzlies, and it's because you can easily get your neck ripped in half. Let the bear live!

No.
And there is no way ot put him into the wild because he wouldn't know what to do.
What needs to happen is he needs to be placed in a natural facility that provides for their inhabitants. He should be with other bears and make little bears.

A bear Will always be a bear. Trainers should be more careful. It would be a shame to kill the bear.

no matter how young a wild animal is taken in IT IS STILL a wild animal & will always have that inside of them
I feel sorry for the bear but its not the first time this has happend with animals in capativity..
I hope they do not kill the bear

no, because thats natural behavior of a bear and if people cant understand that then they shouldnt be getting involved with a bear, the bear doesnt know any better.
